Deadline to File Your Property Taxes is Monday, May 17!

Only a few days left to protest your property taxes – Monday, May 17 – especially if you had any winter storm damage! Don’t wait until Monday though.

Protest Process
Every spring, Travis County property owners whose market value has increased by at least $1,000 over the last year will receive a Notice of Appraised Value. This notice contains three important values:
Market value: This is the value based on what your property would sell for as of Jan. 1.
Assessed value: This is the reduced value of your property based on limitations provided by having a homestead exemption.
Taxable value: This is the assessed value minus any exemption amounts. It is the value used to calculate your property taxes for each taxing unit.

If you do not receive a Notice of Appraised Value, you can view your property’s values using the property search feature of our website.

If you believe the market value of your property is incorrect, you have the right to protest that value. The deadline to file your protest for the 2021 protest season is May 17, 2021. If you choose to protest the value of your property, you can initiate the protest in one of several ways:

Online
This is the easiest and fastest way to initiate and manage your protest. By filing online at https://www.traviscad.org/eservices/, you will receive an immediate confirmation that your protest has been filed. Additionally, you will be able to upload comments and evidence related to your protest, review evidence from the appraisal district, and accept/decline any settlement offer through your online account.
If you do not have an account, you can set one up by using the property owner ID and pin number on your Notice of Appraised Value. If you can’t find that contact Customer Service Department for assistance at (512) 834-9138 option 5 or csinfo@tcadcentral.org.

By Mail
You can send us your protest by mail at:
Travis Central Appraisal District
PO Box 149012
Austin TX 78714

In-Person
You can stop by our office during normal business hours:
850 East Anderson Lane
Austin, TX 78752

Milwood NA’s Fourth of July House Parade 2020

After much deliberation, brainstorming, and with a heavy heart, MNA will sadly not be able to provide an event that promotes any type of gathering this year.

HOWEVER, we are hopeful that with your help we can still have some Neighborhood Fun and Spirit for our Nation’s Independence!

Our thought is to have neighbors decorate their homes/front yards for the week or even two!

Then our neighbors can choose their own Self-Guided House Decoration Parade Route to drive, bike, walk by in celebration.

This will provide a great option since the city has closed the parks and several water access options for the July 4th weekend.

So please consider pulling out the decor you have (or pick some up with your mask, of course) and place it in your yard to brighten our neighborhood’s spirit!

If you plan to participate in decorating, please send an email to milwoodna1@gmail.com reply to this email with your address or click here. We will post a map on the website and in an email on Saturday. Thanks for helping us make this year the best COVID will allow!

There will be a prize for the Most Patriotic, Most Fun, Community Favorite, & Best Spirit. So please vote on or before July 8th!

Happy Independence Day!

If possible, please support MNA by paying your $15/yr voluntary Dues! Click HERE to do so. It’s quick and easy!
