10-1 Independent Citizen’s Redistricting Committee Update

Courtesy of Milwood resident Ed English:

Fellow North Austinites,
I’ve attached some of the latest documents of record (of many that can be reviewed) generated by the 10-1 Applicant Review Panel. Thought you might like to see some of the results they are generating. The first item, a map of where the highest scoring applicants reside, is rather telling. Northwest/North Central Austin is not faring well. I’ve brought this fact to the attention of the Panel, and hopefully as they tweak the pool we’ll see more folks from our area make the cut.
I have attended each meeting held thus far and will attend each of their remaining meetings. If you’re bored, you can watch the taped meetings (see link below) and see me make comments frequently. Others have tossed in their opinions, but more public input (meaning — yours) is welcomed. It is quite easy to submit a request to speak at the meetings.
Want to address the Applicant Review Panel regarding the near absence of North Austin candidates for the Independent Citizen’s Redistricting Committee? Their next meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd, 6:00 PM, City Hall — Boards and Commissions Room.

Take care and keep up the good work “out there”

Ed English
