Our region’s Commander’s Forum – This Tues 7/12 at Abel’s North – 6:30pm

This Tuesday 7/12/16 at Abel’s North from 6:30pm-8pm for Region II (Adam) which covers Milwood and some surrounding.

They will cover crime stats for the Region and there will also be a guest speaker from one of our APD units.

They won’t have any specific talk about the Amherst/Duval light, but can answer any questions. All traffic changes like that are made by the transportation department, so APD doesn’t really have any say or input.

Thanks to all the volunteers and donors who helped make our Fourth of July Parade & Picnic possible! This is MNA’s Annual Dues Fundraiser, so if we missed you at the event – please consider paying your $15 yearly dues online or mailing them to MNA. Info here. We appreciate your support ever so much! As it helps us pay for events, website, email, improvements and show that we are supported by our residents when we go to the City about concerns or needs (like the Park Improvements – New Pavilion, Pool Shade and Playground). Thanks!!

Attn! Changes at Amherst & Duval with Light & Lanes, please read….

Attn! Changes at Amherst & Duval with Light & Lanes, please read….
There has been a lane designation change to the intersection of Amherst DR. and Duval. I was in the area this morning along with a representative from the Transportation Department. It was clear after watching traffic that most drivers seem to be unaware of the change. Traffic heading South on Amherst approaching Duval now has one lane to make the left turn. The right lane is now a straight, right turn only. This change was implemented in an effort to relieve traffic congestion, increase traffic flow, and make the intersection safer. I was advised by the Transportation Office of changes made to the signal light timing to assist with the changes made. They will also reassess the lights when school starts and traffic increases. It is important to the safety to all traveling in the area to obey the lane designation and lights. I also want to remind those vehicles making a left, that a “flashing” yellow arrow allows traffic to still proceed but you must yield to other traffic or pedestrians. I hope this will help those in the area that may not have been aware of the change.

Thank you
