From the PTA:
We are so excited that the Scholastics Book Fair is back at Summitt. I love getting books into kids’ hands and watching the wonder as they explore a new land or time or event, all through the beauty of books.
The theme this year is Book Fair Safari and the dates for the event are:
Monday December 8th to Friday December 12th.
We are looking! for volunteers to help with the following:
Decorating (Monday Dec 1 – Thursday Dec 4)
Set Up (Friday Dec 5, 8 – noon)
Teacher Preview (Friday Dec 5, 3 -4)
Selling and help during the fair (Mon – Wed 7:30-3:30, Thur. Dec 11 7:30 – 6, Fri Dec 12 7:30 – noon)
! PJ Night (Thursday Dec 11 6 – 8 pm)
Take Down (Friday Dec 12 noon-2:45)
If you have time in your schedule, we would love to have you help in any capacity. The more, the merrier. It takes many of us to make the book fair a success PLUS the kids love to see the great hall decorated and filled with books.

Our library has beecome a very scarce resource for meeting rooms. We have to schedule a looong time in advance, so we already know we’ll have our general meetings in 2009 on:
April 30, 2009
September 30, 2009
Also note that we’ll be taking our monthly board meetings to It’s a Grind (still on third Tuesdays), send me a note with questions.
For the next 5 Saturday nights there will be a Fireworks Display at the Domain The dates are (11/22, 11/29, 12/06, 12/13, & 12/20). The start time for these events will be sometime between 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Tomorrow’s kick-off event features the Macy’s treelighting and Jordin Sparks so be prepared for a significant increase in traffic. more info
