Enchanted Forest update

Just in from the developer:

Here’s a brief update of the Enchanted Forest project:

We are about 2 weeks from paving streets, after which we will finalize the project and have it inspected by the City of Austin. All utilities are completed in the project, save an offsite wastewater line which should be completed in the next week or so.

Mercedes Homes has begun marketing the subdivision and contacting those that have placed their names on an inquiry list. Anyone interested in a home should contact Mercedes directly. They have placed signs around the subdivision with contact information.

Enchanted Forest continues to be an item of interest in the neighborhood, and homebuilder Mercedes Homes has released prices and floor plans are on their website. The initial 5 homes have already been released, with the remaining 45 homesites to be released in groups of 10 during the upcoming months in 2008. General Meeting – October 16

Our General Meeting is October 16th at 7pm at the Milwood Library. Our speaker will be the developer and homebuilders from the Enchanted Forest subdivision. I’ve gotten a lot of buzz from people interested in the Enchanted Forest – you can see the map here.

Enchanted Forest Update

I heard back from the developer, so here’s three additional snippets to add on to the post below:

1. the project is a 56 pot subdivision, and Mercedes Homes will be the homebuilder.
2. The layout of roads and infrastructure will take about 5 months, and the buildout of homes will take 9 to 15 months after that.
3. The traffic up to the site will primarily go Duval to Dorsett, avoiding going through the center of the neighborhood.

Enchanted Forest getting underway

Many folks have noticed that the bulldozers have begun on the Enchanted Forest project off of Dorsett between Hawkhaven and Ganymede and have asked for a little extra information. Navigating city development information is always an experience, but we were able to locate some information on what it’s going to look like.

It looks like this is where you can find out information about the project. Traffic questions, which is the main source of concern I received, has less to do with the developer and more to do with Public Works determinations. That said, we do have a call into the engineering first to see if they will share a rough timeline with us. More info later.
